Ocean
Shores, WA is unique unto itself. The peninsula is surrounded
on three sides by water and features six miles of uninterrupted
wide-open sandy beaches. Ocean Shores is approximately six miles
long and only two miles across at its widest point.
There are 23
miles of interconnecting, spring fed, fresh water lakes and canals.
It is a boaters paradise, whether water-skiing on Duck Lake,
sailing, canoeing, Kayaking or windsurfing.
The
peninsula features 70 miles of waterfront property, along the
bay to the east and south, the ocean to the west, and along the
shores of the lakes and the canals that meander through Ocean
Shores.
Wildlife is abundant
on the peninsula. Ocean Shores is home to more species of birds
than any other locale of its size in the entire USA. Deer, otter,
beaver and bald eagles call Ocean Shores home.
The 1,100 acre
Oyehut Wildlife Refuge and Protection Island, both located near
the marina at the southern tip of Ocean Shores, offers a range
of activities and outdoor recreation.
There are more
than 110 miles of roads in Ocean Shores, perfect for biking,
walking or scenic driving.
Ocean
Shores has a PGA rated 18 hole golf course, a tri-plex movie
theater, driving range, numerous parks and picnic grounds with
baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts, play equipment and
Quinault Resort and Casino is just north of town.
Ocean Shores
offers many fine restaurants offering a variety of dining options.
Shopping is a highlight with 50 or so fabulous gift shops, galleries
and other great stores known for their salt-water taffy, fudge,
hand crafted items and spectacular kits and beach toys. A few
of the wonderful restaurants in Ocean Shores include, Mariah's,
Waves, Alecs, Galaway Bay Irish Pub, Shilo, Las Maracas.
A new 40,000
square foot grocery store is soon to be built with a full service
bakery, delicatessen, Chinese kitchen and inside eating area.
Ocean Shores
NEW Convention Center is host to many fun annual events, the
Dixieland Jazz Festival, Beachcombers Fun Fair, Photography Show,
Arts and Crafts Festival, Antique Show and more. It is the perfect
venue for corporate or private events.
Coming soon to
Ocean Shores will be a major Marine Aquarium. Also water-park,
covered tennis courts, theme restaurant and multiple unit time
shares. Also occurring will be the dredging of the Channel between
Ocean Shores & Westport, which will bring a 16 car ferry
with a new Marina project soon to follow.
